Stephane Villatte, MD, MPH

Born and raised in Haiti, Stephane’s life and career have been shaped by a deep commitment to public health and social equity. His journey has taken him across the globe—from the Latin America Caribbean (LAC) Region to Cambodia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Chad, and Uganda where he has led and supported humanitarian and development initiatives in some of the world’s most vulnerable regions.

Stephane began his professional path in medicine, earning his medical degree and later specializing in epidemiology. This dual expertise has equipped him to address health challenges at both individual and population levels, particularly in crisis-affected areas. His work has focused on strengthening health systems, responding to epidemics, and building resilience in communities facing conflict, displacement, and poverty.

Now serving on the Board of Directors at Haiti Projects, Stephane sees this role as a powerful opportunity to contribute to the organization’s mission: empowering women and their families in rural Haiti through access to jobs, education, and healthcare. He is especially passionate about advancing community health and supporting sustainable development initiatives that uplift Haitian women as agents of change.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Stephane is an avid soccer player and coach. For him, sport is more than recreation, it’s a way to foster teamwork, mentorship, and connection across cultures and generations.

Stephane’s story is one of resilience, service, and unwavering dedication to making a difference. Through his work with Haiti Projects, he continues to champion equity, opportunity, and hope for the communities he holds close to heart.
