Lucy Levenson Executive Director
Lucy became the Executive Director of Haiti Projects in September 2010. She has a long history of work with nonprofits with a focus on social services, the arts and education. In addition, for a broad range of clients over the past 25 years Lucy has provided communications strategies and marketing and public relations services in both traditional and new media outlets through her boutique marketing and communication agency. She is also the founding partner of the Pacific Imaging Center in Hawaii. Lucy has a specific interest in helping to promote entrepreneurial opportunities for women.
Claudia Woods Director of Development
Claudia Woods is our Director of Development and New Products. She comes to us with an extensive background in nonprofit fundraising, including capital campaigns, major gifts and planned giving programs as well as in marketing communications. She has a particular interest in the development of sustainable communities in rural environments.
Chantal Healey Director of US Operations
Chantal Healey is the Director of US Operations for Haiti Projects. She has a history of nonprofit management and working with refugee women to assist them in rebuilding and leading sustainable lives through micro-enterprise. She is an experienced attorney and former in-house counsel for a Fortune 500 healthcare corporation. She is the daughter of a Haitian immigrant and deeply committed to helping Haitian women artisans lead sustainable lives.
Susanna Taylor Co-Director of the Cooperative
Susanna Hackett Taylor began working with her mother, Sarah Hackett, founder of Haiti Projects, in the early 1990's. Her background in the arts and her time living abroad in France allowed her to wear many hats over the years both in and outside Haiti. Susanna currently works from her home in New Mexico to oversee complete production of the Cooperative. She manages materials going in and out of Haiti and oversees production goals and timelines.
Renee Ryan Administrative Assistant / Inventory Manager
Renee joined Haiti Projects in January 2011. Renee has a strong background in customer service and sales which helps in her dual role at Haiti Projects. Her main responsibilities include maintaining customer relations with vendors, filling orders and assisting the Director of US Operations with sales and pricing. She also maintains office finances and is the quality assurance manager on all of our products shipped from Haiti to the United States.
Issamuel Jean Louis General Manager, Haiti
Issamuel Jean Louis is a native of Fond des Blancs, Haiti. He served as the Director of the Haiti Projects Community Library from 2001 to 2008, after which he began work as the General Manager for Haiti Projects. He currently oversees all operations on the ground in Fond des Blancs, Haiti for Haiti Projects’ multiple programs. Issamuel was educated in Port au Prince, Haiti and received his BAC in 2001 from the Institute of the University Quisqueya-America. In 2003 he received a certificate in librarianship by Helvetas and the French Institute in Haiti (IFH).

Yonel surin Director of Library Community,Haiti
My name is Yonel Surin, born on February 23, 1980 in Fond des Blancs .Finished my secondary school in 2006 in Port-Au- Prince . In 1999 during my high school in Fond des Blancs, I was teacher in an elementary school in Buissereth, at the same time, I worked as a librarian at the Library Community of Fond des Blancs. In 2003, I was hired as vice –principal in a primary shool in Murier ( Christophe Colomb) for 3 years . I went to port-Au-Prince in 2005 to finish my secondary school and in the same time I went to computer school. In 2007, I returned to Fond des Blancs and I worked as assistant director of the library. In summer 2009, I attended to a seminar on management at the Professional School Hearts United. In 2010 to date, I am working as Director of the Library Community of Fond des Blancs and substitute teachers in the philosophy class in Fond des Blancs St Francis Xavier College.
Joselyne Louis Clinic Manager, Haiti
Joselyne was born and raised in the south of Haiti. She began working as the manager of the Haiti Projects Family Health Clinic in July, 2007. Before that she was a practicing nurse in Pont Matheux, responsible for childbirth and pre and post-natal care. Joselyne holds a graduate degree in nursing with a specialty in midwifery.
