Artisanat Cooperative

For over 18 years, Haiti Projects has been working to build a sustainable economy for the women of Fond des Blancs. From three women and a rented room, the Artisanat Cooperative has grown to employ nearly 100 women who embroider heirloom-quality linens for the home market. Their exquisite handiwork includes an embroidery technique called passé plat that is uniquely tied to the culture and history of Haiti. Passé plat is a skill that has been passed down through the generations. The Artisanat makes it possible for its employees to support the education fees of more than 400 children.
